1. Introduction
Nexa Nurse Academy is committed to creating a safe, respectful, professional, and inclusive learning environment for all learners, instructors, staff, and other members of the Academy community.
This Student Code of Conduct establishes the standards of behaviour expected from everyone who participates in Nexa Nurse Academy programmes and uses the Academy’s website, learning platform, courses, assessments, communication channels, and related services.
By enrolling in a Nexa Nurse Academy course or using the Academy platform, you agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
2. Purpose of the Code
The purpose of this Code is to:
- Promote respectful and professional behaviour.
- Protect the safety and dignity of learners and staff.
- Encourage a positive learning environment.
- Establish appropriate standards for communication.
- Protect confidential and personal information.
- Prevent harassment, discrimination, bullying, and abuse.
- Promote responsible use of Academy resources.
- Protect the reputation and integrity of Nexa Nurse Academy.
3. Who This Code Applies To
This Code applies to:
- Learners.
- Course participants.
- Individuals participating in Academy programmes.
- Users of Academy discussion areas or communication features.
- Participants in Academy events or live learning sessions.
- Anyone using an Academy account.
The Code applies whether conduct occurs:
- On the Academy website.
- Within an online course.
- During an assessment.
- In a discussion forum.
- In course comments.
- During a live class.
- Through Academy communication channels.
- During an Academy-related event.
- Through other communication directly connected to the Academy.
4. Professional Behaviour
Nexa Nurse Academy prepares learners for professional environments, including caregiving and healthcare-related settings.
Learners are therefore expected to conduct themselves professionally.
Learners should:
- Treat others with respect.
- Communicate professionally.
- Be honest and trustworthy.
- Take responsibility for their actions.
- Follow Academy rules and instructions.
- Respect different opinions and backgrounds.
- Demonstrate appropriate professional judgement.
- Protect the reputation of the Academy.
5. Respectful Communication
Learners must communicate respectfully with:
- Other learners.
- Instructors.
- Academy staff.
- Guest speakers.
- Course facilitators.
- Support personnel.
Communication should not include:
- Insults.
- Threats.
- Harassment.
- Intimidation.
- Personal attacks.
- Abusive language.
- Deliberately offensive content.
- Repeated unwanted communication.
Disagreements are permitted, but they should be handled respectfully and constructively.
6. Harassment and Bullying
Nexa Nurse Academy does not tolerate harassment or bullying.
Harassment or bullying may include:
- Repeated insulting behaviour.
- Intimidation.
- Threatening behaviour.
- Humiliation.
- Persistent unwanted contact.
- Targeting another learner.
- Deliberately excluding or degrading another person.
- Sexual harassment.
- Abusive or threatening messages.
The Academy may take appropriate action where such behaviour occurs through Academy services or in connection with an Academy programme.
7. Discrimination
The Academy is committed to providing a learning environment where learners are treated fairly and respectfully.
Learners must not engage in discriminatory or hateful conduct based on characteristics protected under applicable law.
This includes discriminatory conduct directed at another learner, instructor, employee, or member of the Academy community.
8. Threats and Violence
Threats of violence or physical harm are prohibited.
Learners must not:
- Threaten another person.
- Encourage violence.
- Make credible threats against Academy staff or learners.
- Attempt to intimidate another person through threats of harm.
- Use Academy services to facilitate violence or criminal activity.
Serious threats may be reported to appropriate authorities where necessary or required by law.
9. Sexual Harassment and Inappropriate Conduct
Learners must maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
Prohibited conduct may include:
- Unwanted sexual comments.
- Sexual harassment.
- Unwanted sexual messages.
- Sharing sexually explicit material through Academy services.
- Unwanted sexual advances.
- Sexual intimidation.
- Sexualised comments directed at another learner or staff member.
The Academy may take disciplinary action where such behaviour occurs.
10. Appropriate Use of Academy Communication Features
Where the Academy provides comments, discussions, messaging, reviews, forums, or other communication features, learners must use them responsibly.
Learners must not use these features to:
- Harass others.
- Send spam.
- Promote unlawful activities.
- Distribute malware.
- Conduct scams.
- Share offensive material.
- Publish confidential information.
- Impersonate another person.
- Promote unrelated commercial activities without permission.
- Disrupt learning activities.
The Academy may remove inappropriate content where reasonably necessary.
11. Course Reviews and Feedback
Learners are encouraged to provide honest and constructive feedback.
Reviews and feedback should be:
- Truthful.
- Relevant.
- Respectful.
- Based on genuine experience.
Learners must not:
- Submit fake reviews.
- Submit reviews on behalf of another person.
- Threaten the Academy with a negative review in exchange for benefits.
- Publish deliberately false information.
- Use reviews to harass staff or instructors.
The Academy may remove reviews that violate this Code or applicable law.
12. Privacy and Confidentiality
Learners must respect the privacy of other people.
You must not publish or share another person’s personal information without appropriate permission.
This may include:
- Telephone numbers.
- Email addresses.
- Home addresses.
- Identification documents.
- Private photographs.
- Private messages.
- Financial information.
- Health information.
- Confidential employment information.
This is particularly important in healthcare-related courses, where learners may encounter sensitive information as part of educational discussions or case studies.
13. Patient and Client Confidentiality
Where a course involves healthcare, caregiving, nursing, or client-related scenarios, learners must respect confidentiality.
Learners must not share identifiable information about patients, clients, residents, or other individuals in:
- Assignments.
- Discussions.
- Comments.
- Reviews.
- Social media.
- Public forums.
- Academy communication channels.
Where a real-world case is used for educational purposes, identifying information should be removed or appropriately anonymised.
14. Professional Boundaries
Learners participating in healthcare-related education should understand the importance of professional boundaries.
Learners should not use Academy communication channels to:
- Establish inappropriate personal relationships with clients or other learners.
- Request or share inappropriate personal information.
- Provide unauthorised medical advice.
- Represent themselves as a healthcare professional when they are not appropriately qualified.
- Misrepresent their professional credentials.
15. Academic Integrity
Learners are expected to maintain academic integrity.
This includes:
- Completing their own work.
- Following assessment instructions.
- Avoiding cheating.
- Avoiding plagiarism.
- Avoiding impersonation.
- Not sharing restricted assessment answers.
- Not manipulating course completion records.

16. Account Security and Responsible Use
Learners are responsible for protecting their Academy accounts.
Learners must not:
- Share passwords.
- Allow others to use their account.
- Attempt to access another learner’s account.
- Attempt to bypass security controls.
- Use another person’s identity.
- Create accounts for fraudulent purposes.

17. Technology and Platform Use
Learners must use the Academy platform responsibly.
You must not:
- Attempt to hack or compromise the website.
- Introduce viruses or malicious software.
- Attempt unauthorised access to databases or systems.
- Interfere with website functionality.
- Scrape or copy substantial amounts of Academy content without permission.
- Circumvent access controls.
- Attempt to manipulate course or assessment systems.
- Use automated systems to interfere with normal website operations.
18. Intellectual Property
Learners must respect the intellectual property rights of Nexa Nurse Academy, instructors, content creators, and other parties.
Learners must not:
- Distribute course materials without permission.
- Upload Academy videos to other websites.
- Sell Academy course materials.
- Reproduce substantial portions of Academy content.
- Create unauthorised copies of course materials.
- Remove copyright or ownership notices.

19. Unauthorised Commercial Activity
Learners must not use Academy communication channels or course areas for unauthorised commercial activity.
This may include:
- Advertising products.
- Advertising unrelated services.
- Recruiting customers.
- Promoting competing platforms.
- Sending unsolicited marketing messages.
- Soliciting money from other learners.
Commercial activities may only be conducted where expressly authorised by Nexa Nurse Academy.
20. Prohibited and Illegal Activities
Learners must not use Academy services to facilitate unlawful activity.
This includes:
- Fraud.
- Scams.
- Identity theft.
- Money laundering.
- Unauthorised access to computer systems.
- Distribution of malicious software.
- Threats of violence.
- Other unlawful conduct.
Where appropriate, serious unlawful conduct may be reported to relevant authorities.
21. Use of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence tools may be useful for learning, but learners remain responsible for following course-specific instructions.
Where AI use is permitted, learners must use it responsibly.
Learners must not use AI tools to:
- Cheat on restricted assessments.
- Impersonate another person.
- Generate fraudulent certificates.
- Circumvent assessment requirements.
- Misrepresent another person’s work as their own.
Where a course provides specific rules regarding AI use, those rules will apply.
22. Live Classes and Virtual Events
Where the Academy provides live classes, webinars, workshops, or virtual events, participants are expected to:
- Join on time where reasonably possible.
- Follow instructor instructions.
- Keep microphones muted when not speaking.
- Avoid disrupting the session.
- Use appropriate language.
- Respect other participants.
- Avoid unauthorised recording.
- Avoid sharing confidential information.
The Academy may remove a participant from a live session where their behaviour significantly disrupts the learning environment.
23. Recording and Photography
Learners must not record, reproduce, distribute, or publicly share Academy classes, meetings, assessments, or other restricted content without appropriate permission.
Where the Academy records a session for legitimate educational or administrative purposes, appropriate notice may be provided where required.
24. Conflict of Interest and Misrepresentation
Learners must not falsely claim to be:
- An Academy employee.
- An Academy instructor.
- An authorised Academy representative.
- A healthcare professional.
- A government official.
- Another learner.
Learners must not use the Nexa Nurse Academy name or branding in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, employment, partnership, or official representation.
25. Reporting Misconduct
Learners who experience or witness serious misconduct connected with the Academy are encouraged to report it.
Reports may be submitted to:
Where possible, reports should include:
- Description of the incident.
- Date and approximate time.
- People involved.
- Relevant course or programme.
- Supporting evidence, where available.
The Academy will make reasonable efforts to handle reports appropriately and confidentially.
26. False or Malicious Reports
Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.
Knowingly making false allegations, fabricating evidence, or using the reporting process to deliberately harm another person may itself constitute misconduct.
This does not prevent learners from reporting concerns where they genuinely believe misconduct may have occurred.
27. Investigation of Conduct Violations
Where a conduct concern is reported, the Academy may investigate the matter.
Depending on the circumstances, the Academy may:
- Review relevant communications.
- Review course activity.
- Request information from involved individuals.
- Review available technical records.
- Ask individuals to provide an explanation.
- Temporarily restrict access where necessary.
The Academy will make reasonable efforts to handle investigations fairly and appropriately.
28. Possible Disciplinary Actions
Where a learner violates this Code, the Academy may take one or more actions depending on the seriousness of the conduct.
These may include:
- Informal warning.
- Formal warning.
- Removal of inappropriate content.
- Temporary restriction of communication features.
- Removal from a live class or event.
- Suspension of course access.
- Requirement to complete additional training.
- Suspension of the learner’s account.
- Termination of the learner’s account.
- Withholding or revocation of a certificate.
- Referral to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.
The Academy will consider the nature and seriousness of the conduct when determining an appropriate response.
29. Serious Misconduct
The Academy may take immediate action where conduct presents a significant risk to:
- The safety of another person.
- The security of the Academy.
- The integrity of assessments.
- The privacy of learners.
- The reputation or operation of the Academy.
Examples include:
- Serious threats.
- Harassment.
- Fraud.
- Impersonation.
- Serious academic misconduct.
- Attempts to compromise Academy systems.
- Distribution of malicious software.
- Serious privacy violations.
30. Relationship With Academic Integrity
This Student Code of Conduct and the Academic Integrity Policy operate together.
Conduct relating specifically to cheating, plagiarism, assessment fraud, impersonation, or certificate fraud may also be addressed under the Academic Integrity Policy.
A learner may therefore be subject to consequences under more than one Academy policy where appropriate.
31. Appeals
Where disciplinary action has been taken, the learner may contact:
to request a review where they believe:
- Relevant information was not considered.
- There was a significant factual error.
- The decision was based on incorrect information.
- There was a significant procedural issue.
The Academy may review the matter and determine whether the original decision should be confirmed, modified, or reversed.
32. No Retaliation
Nexa Nurse Academy does not support retaliation against individuals who make genuine reports of misconduct or cooperate with an investigation.
However, knowingly making false or malicious reports may itself constitute a violation of this Code.
33. Professional Responsibility
Learners should remember that their behaviour as students may influence how they are perceived as future professionals.
Those studying caregiving, nursing-related subjects, healthcare support, or other professional programmes are encouraged to demonstrate:
- Compassion.
- Respect.
- Honesty.
- Responsibility.
- Confidentiality.
- Professionalism.
- Respect for human dignity.
These principles are important both within the Academy and in professional practice.
