1. Introduction
Nexa Nurse Academy is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, honesty, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Our certificates are intended to represent genuine learning and successful completion of the applicable course requirements.
To protect the credibility of our programmes and certificates, all learners are expected to complete their coursework, quizzes, assessments, assignments, and other learning activities honestly and independently, unless collaboration or assistance is expressly permitted.
This Academic Integrity Policy explains what constitutes academic misconduct, how suspected violations may be handled, and the possible consequences of violating the policy.
2. Purpose of This Policy
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Promote honesty and responsible learning.
- Protect the credibility of Nexa Nurse Academy certificates.
- Ensure that learners are assessed fairly.
- Prevent cheating and fraudulent course completion.
- Establish clear standards for learner conduct.
- Provide a fair process for handling suspected academic misconduct.
3. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to all Nexa Nurse Academy learners and anyone participating in Academy courses or certification programmes.
It applies to activities including:
- Online lessons.
- Quizzes.
- Examinations.
- Assessments.
- Assignments.
- Practical activities.
- Course completion requirements.
- Certificate examinations.
- Other activities used to determine successful completion of a programme.
4. What Is Academic Integrity?
Academic integrity means completing learning and assessment activities honestly and representing your own knowledge, skills, and work accurately.
Learners are expected to:
- Complete their own work.
- Follow assessment instructions.
- Provide truthful information.
- Respect intellectual property.
- Properly acknowledge sources where required.
- Protect the confidentiality of assessment materials.
- Use only permitted assistance.
- Avoid actions that give them an unfair advantage.
5. Academic Misconduct
Academic misconduct occurs when a learner engages in dishonest, deceptive, fraudulent, or unauthorised conduct in connection with an Academy course or assessment.
Academic misconduct may include, but is not limited to:
5.1 Cheating
Cheating includes obtaining or attempting to obtain an unfair advantage during a quiz, examination, or assessment.
Examples include:
- Using unauthorised materials.
- Receiving unauthorised assistance.
- Using prohibited websites or resources.
- Communicating with another person during a restricted assessment.
- Obtaining assessment answers from another person.
6. Plagiarism
Plagiarism involves presenting another person’s work, ideas, words, or materials as your own without appropriate acknowledgement.
Examples may include:
- Copying another person’s assignment.
- Submitting material taken from a website without appropriate attribution.
- Submitting another learner’s work as your own.
- Copying substantial content from another source without acknowledgement.
Where an assignment requires original work, learners must submit work that genuinely represents their own contribution.
7. Impersonation
Impersonation occurs when someone completes a course, assessment, examination, or other learning activity on behalf of another person.
Examples include:
- Allowing another person to use your account.
- Asking another person to complete an assessment for you.
- Completing an assessment for another learner.
- Creating an account using another person’s identity.
- Providing false identity information.
Impersonation is considered a serious violation of this policy.
8. Account Sharing
Each learner is expected to use their own Academy account.
Learners must not:
- Share login credentials.
- Allow another person to access their course.
- Allow another person to complete lessons or assessments on their behalf.
- Sell or transfer course access.
Account sharing may compromise the integrity of course completion records and certificates.
9. Unauthorised Assistance
Learners must follow the specific instructions provided for each assessment.
Unless expressly permitted, learners must not use:
- Another person’s assistance.
- Answer-sharing services.
- Unauthorised study materials.
- Examination or quiz answer banks.
- Tools or resources specifically prohibited by the assessment instructions.
The use of technology, including artificial intelligence tools, may be permitted for certain learning activities but prohibited for particular assessments.
Where an assessment specifies that work must be completed independently, learners must follow that requirement.
10. Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools
Nexa Nurse Academy recognises that artificial intelligence and other digital tools can support learning.
However, learners remain responsible for following the instructions provided for each course and assessment.
Unless expressly permitted, learners should not use artificial intelligence or automated tools to:
- Complete an assessment on their behalf.
- Generate answers for a restricted examination.
- Misrepresent AI-generated work as their own where original work is required.
- Circumvent assessment requirements.
- Gain an unfair advantage.
Where AI-assisted work is permitted, learners remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted work.
The Academy may introduce course-specific rules regarding the use of artificial intelligence.
Where such rules exist, the course-specific rules will apply.
11. Sharing Assessment Questions and Answers
Learners must not share confidential assessment content with other people where the assessment instructions prohibit such sharing.
This includes:
- Quiz questions.
- Examination questions.
- Correct answers.
- Screenshots of restricted assessments.
- Assessment recordings.
- Access codes.
- Other confidential assessment materials.
Sharing assessment content may undermine the integrity of the programme and may result in disciplinary action.
12. Falsification and Misrepresentation
Learners must provide truthful information to the Academy.
Misconduct may include:
- Providing false personal information.
- Falsifying educational information.
- Falsifying course completion information.
- Manipulating assessment results.
- Falsifying documents.

Learners should:

- Respect the dignity of others.
- Avoid discriminatory or abusive conduct.

Nexa Nurse Academy may investigate suspected academic misconduct where there are reasonable grounds to believe that a violation has occurred.
Possible indicators may include:
- Unusual assessment activity.
- Account sharing.
- Significant inconsistencies in learner submissions.
- Reports from instructors or other learners.
- Unauthorised access patterns.
- Evidence of copied or plagiarised work.
- Falsified information.
- Suspicious certificate activity.
- Other evidence suggesting academic misconduct.
The Academy may use reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect the integrity of its assessments and certification processes.
16. Investigation Process
Where academic misconduct is suspected, the Academy may:
- Review the relevant course and assessment records.
- Review available account and activity information.
- Request an explanation from the learner.
- Request additional information or evidence.
- Temporarily suspend access to the relevant assessment or certificate where necessary.
- Determine whether a violation occurred.
Investigations will be handled as fairly and confidentially as reasonably possible.
The Academy is not required to disclose security mechanisms or methods used to detect academic misconduct where doing so could compromise the integrity of future assessments.
17. Learner Response
Where appropriate, the learner may be given an opportunity to respond to allegations of academic misconduct.
The learner may provide relevant information or evidence that they believe should be considered.
The Academy will consider the available information before determining an appropriate outcome.

Certain conduct may be considered particularly serious, including:
- Impersonation.
- Repeated cheating.
- Fraudulent certificate creation.
- Deliberate manipulation of assessment systems.
- Selling or distributing assessment answers.

- Deliberate attempts to compromise Academy systems.
- Obtaining certification through fraudulent means.
Serious violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of access while the matter is investigated.
20. Certificate Revocation
Nexa Nurse Academy reserves the right to revoke or cancel a certificate where there is reasonable evidence that the certificate:
- Was obtained through cheating.
- Was obtained through impersonation.
- Was issued based on falsified information.
- Was obtained through fraudulent activity.
- Was altered or manipulated.
- Was issued in error and cannot reasonably remain valid.
Where a certificate is revoked, the Academy may update its certification records and, where appropriate, its certificate verification system.
A revoked certificate must not be represented as a valid Academy certificate.
21. Academic Integrity and Refunds
Where a learner’s course access or certificate is terminated because of academic misconduct, the learner is generally not entitled to a refund.
This does not limit any mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Appeals
A learner may request a review of an academic misconduct decision where they believe:
- Relevant information was not considered.
- There was a significant factual error.
- The decision was based on incorrect information.
- There was a significant procedural issue.
Appeals should be submitted to:
The appeal should clearly explain the basis for the request and provide any relevant supporting information.
The Academy may review the matter and determine whether the original decision should be confirmed, modified, or reversed.
23. Confidentiality
The Academy will make reasonable efforts to handle academic misconduct investigations confidentially.
Information may be shared with relevant personnel or service providers where necessary to:
- Conduct an investigation.
- Protect the integrity of an assessment.
- Protect the Academy or its learners.
- Comply with legal obligations.
- Enforce Academy policies.
24. Cooperation With Investigations
Learners are expected to cooperate reasonably with legitimate investigations into suspected academic misconduct.
Failure to cooperate does not automatically establish misconduct, but it may be considered when determining appropriate administrative action where permitted by applicable law.
25. Academic Integrity and Professional Certification
Nexa Nurse Academy aims to ensure that its certificates represent genuine learning and achievement.
Learners should understand that a certificate represents completion of the applicable Academy requirements based on the information available to the Academy.
A certificate must not be presented as evidence of a government-issued professional licence or registration unless it independently represents such a qualification issued by the appropriate authority.
Completion of an Academy course does not automatically confer professional registration or licensing.
