Effective Date: 10 August 2026
Last Updated: 10 August 2026
1. Introduction
At Nexa Nurse Academy, we want learners to have a positive experience with our courses and programmes.
Because our courses are delivered digitally and learners may receive immediate access to educational content after payment, our refund policy is designed to balance learner protection with the nature of digital educational services.
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains when a learner may request a refund, when a refund may not be available, and how refund requests are handled.
This policy should be read together with the Nexa Nurse Academy Terms and Conditions.
2. General Refund Principle
Nexa Nurse Academy generally provides a refund where a learner cancels a course purchase before accessing or commencing the course, subject to the conditions in this policy.
Once a learner has accessed or commenced a course, refund eligibility may be limited because digital course materials, assessments, resources, and other educational services may already have been made available.
For this reason, accessing a course may affect or eliminate eligibility for a refund.
3. Cancellation Before Course Access
If you purchase a course but have not accessed or commenced the course, you may request a cancellation and refund.
Refund requests should be submitted as soon as possible and preferably within seven (7) days of purchase.
Where the request meets the requirements of this policy, the Academy may provide a refund of the course fee.
Any payment processing fees or charges imposed by third-party payment providers may not be refundable where those charges have already been incurred and cannot reasonably be recovered.
4. Refunds After Course Access Has Started
Once you have accessed or commenced a course, refunds will generally not be available.
For the purposes of this policy, a course may be considered commenced when you:
-
Access the course dashboard.
-
Open or view course lessons.
-
Watch course videos.
-
Download course materials.
-
Attempt a quiz or assessment.
-
Submit an assignment.
-
Access restricted course resources.
-
Otherwise begin using the educational content.
This policy exists because digital educational materials can be accessed immediately and cannot always be returned once made available.
5. Exceptional Refund Requests
Although refunds are generally not available after a course has commenced, Nexa Nurse Academy may consider exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Examples may include:
-
Significant technical problems preventing reasonable access to the course.
-
Duplicate payment.
-
Incorrect course purchase caused by a confirmed technical error.
-
Serious circumstances that materially prevent participation.
-
Other circumstances that the Academy reasonably considers exceptional.
Approval of an exceptional refund is at the sole discretion of Nexa Nurse Academy, subject to applicable law.
Providing a refund in one case does not create an obligation to provide a refund in future cases.
6. Technical Problems
We understand that technical problems can occasionally occur.
If you experience difficulty accessing a course, please contact us at:
Before considering a refund for a technical problem, we may first attempt to resolve the issue.
Depending on the circumstances, we may provide:
-
Technical support.
-
Additional course access time.
-
Alternative access to course materials.
-
Course transfer.
-
Replacement access.
-
Another reasonable solution.
If the Academy is unable to provide reasonable access to a course that you have paid for, we may consider an appropriate refund.
7. Duplicate Payments
If you accidentally make the same payment more than once for the same course, please contact us as soon as possible.
After confirming the duplicate transaction, the Academy will normally refund the duplicate payment.
The refund may be subject to the processing capabilities and policies of the payment provider used for the transaction.
8. Unauthorised or Fraudulent Transactions
If you believe that a payment was made through your account without your authorisation, please contact us immediately at:
We may request additional information to investigate the transaction.
Where appropriate, we may also work with the relevant payment provider to investigate and resolve the matter.
9. Course Cancellation by Nexa Nurse Academy
If Nexa Nurse Academy cancels a course or programme before or during delivery and is unable to provide a reasonable alternative, affected learners may be eligible for a refund.
Depending on the circumstances, we may offer:
-
A full refund.
-
A partial refund.
-
Transfer to another course.
-
Additional course access.
-
An alternative programme.
Where appropriate, we will communicate the available options to affected learners.
10. Course Changes
The Academy may occasionally update, modify, replace, or improve course content.
Changes to course content, lesson structure, instructors, assessments, or learning materials do not automatically entitle a learner to a refund, provided that the Academy continues to provide substantially the educational service purchased.
Where a material change significantly affects the course and the Academy is unable to provide a reasonable alternative, the Academy may consider an appropriate remedy.
11. Failure to Complete a Course
A learner is generally not entitled to a refund simply because they:
-
Change their mind.
-
Lose interest in the course.
-
Stop participating.
-
Do not have enough time to complete the course.
-
Fail to complete the course.
-
Fail an assessment.
-
Do not achieve the expected result.
-
Decide that the course is not suitable for them after commencing it.
Learners are encouraged to review the course description and requirements before purchasing.
12. Failure to Pass an Assessment
Payment for a course does not guarantee that a learner will pass every quiz, examination, or assessment.
Failure to pass an assessment does not normally qualify for a refund.
Where a course provides reassessment or retake opportunities, the applicable course rules will apply.
13. Certificates
Once a learner has completed the requirements for a course and a certificate has been issued, the course fee is generally non-refundable.
If a certificate was obtained through fraud, impersonation, academic misconduct, or other serious violation of the Academy’s Terms and Conditions, the Academy may cancel the certificate.
Cancellation of a certificate due to misconduct does not create an entitlement to a refund.
14. Promotional Prices, Discounts and Scholarships
Courses purchased using promotional discounts, coupons, special offers, or scholarships may be subject to additional refund conditions.
Where a specific promotion or programme has its own refund terms, those terms will apply.
Unless otherwise stated, discounts and promotional benefits cannot be converted into cash.
15. Payment Processing Fees
Where a refund is approved, the Academy may refund the amount actually received for the course, subject to applicable payment processing charges that cannot reasonably be recovered.
Where a payment provider independently charges a non-refundable transaction or processing fee, that fee may be excluded from the refund where permitted by law.
16. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please contact:
Nexa Nurse Academy
Email: academy@nexanurse.com
Your request should include:
-
Full name.
-
Email address associated with your Academy account.
-
Course name.
-
Date of purchase.
-
Payment or transaction reference.
-
Reason for the refund request.
We may request additional information where necessary to verify the transaction and assess the request.
17. Refund Review Process
Refund requests are reviewed individually based on this policy and the circumstances of the request.
We may consider:
-
Whether the course was accessed.
-
How much of the course has been completed.
-
Whether course materials were downloaded.
-
Whether assessments have been attempted.
-
Whether a certificate has been issued.
-
The reason for the refund request.
-
Whether a technical problem occurred.
-
Whether the payment was duplicated.
-
Whether the circumstances are exceptional.
We aim to provide a response to refund requests within a reasonable period.
18. Approved Refunds
Where a refund is approved, we will normally process the refund through the original payment method where reasonably possible.
The time it takes for the funds to appear in your account may depend on the relevant payment provider or financial institution.
Nexa Nurse Academy is not responsible for delays caused by a third-party payment provider or financial institution after the refund has been processed by us.
19. Refunds and Account Access
Where a refund is approved, the Academy may cancel or restrict access to the course associated with the refunded payment.
If the learner has already received a certificate or other benefit associated with the course, the Academy may require the relevant benefit to be withdrawn or cancelled where appropriate.
20. Course Transfers
In certain circumstances, the Academy may offer a course transfer instead of a monetary refund.
For example, where a learner experiences a genuine difficulty with a course, we may offer the option to transfer the learner to another suitable programme.
A course transfer is discretionary and may be subject to availability and additional conditions.
21. No Refund Abuse
Refund requests must be made honestly and in good faith.
The Academy may reject refund requests where there is evidence of:
-
Fraud.
-
Abuse of the refund system.
-
Repeated refund requests.
-
Account sharing.
-
Unauthorised access.
-
Academic misconduct.
-
Attempts to obtain course materials without paying for them.
-
Other misuse of Academy services.
Where appropriate, the Academy may suspend or terminate the relevant account.
22. Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Refund and Cancellation Policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Nigerian law.
Where applicable law provides a mandatory right to a refund, cancellation, replacement, or other remedy, that right will continue to apply.
23. Changes to This Refund Policy
Nexa Nurse Academy may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time.
Changes may be made to reflect:
-
Changes in our courses.
-
Changes in payment systems.
-
Changes in our business practices.
-
Changes in applicable laws or regulations.
The latest version will be published on the Academy website.
The “Last Updated” date indicates when the policy was most recently revised.
